Each IDH piece is handcrafted and packed with care before it reaches you. This page sets out how your piece will be packed, where we ship, and when to expect delivery.

This page is a plain-language summary. The full and binding terms are in our Terms & Conditions, which prevail in case of any difference in wording.

1. Shipping is on us

Shipping is included in the price in each IDH piece for serviceable locations within India. There are no delivery charges at checkout, and no hidden costs at your door.

2. Where we ship

We currently deliver across eight states in India:

  • Delhi
  • Goa
  • Gujarat
  • Haryana
  • Karnataka
  • Kerala
  • Maharashtra
  • Telangana
  • Tamil Nadu

We're working on expanding to more states soon. We are continuously expanding our serviceable areas. If your location is not currently covered, please write to us at hello@indiadesignhouse.com — we'll do our best to help.

International shipping isn't available yet. If you're writing from outside India, drop us a note, and we'll let you know as soon as we open up your region.

At checkout, enter your pin code to confirm serviceability before placing your order.

3. Delivery timelines

Delivery timelines vary by product category:

  • Cotton mâché décor: Delivered within 7–10 days of order confirmation.
  • Cotton mâché lamps: Delivered within 7–10 days of order confirmation.
  • Cushion covers: Delivered within 7–10 days of order confirmation.
  • Art: Made to order. Delivered within 7–10 days of order confirmation.
  • Solid wood furniture: Made to order. Delivered within 8–10 weeks of order confirmation.
  • Sculptural solid wood floor lamp(s): Made to order. Delivered within 12–14 weeks of order confirmation.

We ship through trusted third-party logistics partners. All delivery timelines are estimates and could vary depending on order specifics, production schedules, and delivery location. 

Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking details by email.

4. Packaging

Every IDH piece is packed to travel safely:

  • Rigid corrugated outer boxes, sized to the piece
  • Protective materials such as foam sheets, bubble wrap, or air pillows, based on the product type
  • Cotton dust bags for textiles and select décor
  • Sewn-in care labels (textiles) and/or a printed care insert in smaller-format packages

We recommend video-recording the unboxing of every IDH order as a default practice. In the unlikely event of transit damage, the unboxing video is essential for any claim. Full details on our Returns & Refunds page.

5. Delivery scheduling

Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address to receive and inspect the product at the time of delivery. For smaller items, standard courier delivery applies, and tracking updates are shared via SMS/email

6. Delays outside our control

Delivery timelines are indicative. Circumstances outside our control — including road closures, weather events, strikes, civil disruption, and force majeure events — may cause delays. We monitor every shipment actively and will keep you informed of any material delay.
