Kiran — Sanskrit for ray of light. Not the light that floods a room, but the single shaft that finds its way through.

Product Story

A kiran does not illuminate everything. It chooses — a gap in curtains, a crack in a door. This lamp works the same way. Light does not escape from its sides. It rises from a single opening at the top, directed upward, shaped by the cotton mâché surface that surrounds it. Sculptural when unlit, luminous when on. The hand-textured surface gives depth to the warm cream finish; no two pieces carry the same surface character.

Material & Making

Material:
· Cotton mâché made from reclaimed cotton fabric
· Sealed post-construction. Non-repairable

Technique:
· Moulded and finished by hand by skilled artisans
· Finished as a sealed sculptural form, the lamp is not designed for disassembly or repair.

Variation:
Each piece is individually crafted by hand. Slight variations in shape, surface, and finish, along with minor irregularities, are a natural part of the making process

Care

· For indoor residential use only.

· Use LED bulbs only (E26), up to 3W maximum.

· Do not exceed recommended wattage — heat from incorrect bulbs will damage the body.

· Do not attempt to open, modify, or self-repair electrical components.

· Keep away from moisture and high humidity at all times.

· Keep at least 1 metre away from curtains and all flammable materials at all times.

· Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.

· Switch off and allow to cool before dusting or repositioning.

· Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use water, wet cloths, sprays, or chemical cleaners.

· Handle with care — the body is delicate and not impact resistant.

Placement Guidance

Designed for consoles and shelves. Position so the shade is at or below eye level when seated.

Craft Assurance

We stand behind the craft for one year from the date of delivery on the lamp body and finish, and electricals (wiring, switch, and bulb holder), against manufacturing defects.

Issues visible at the time of delivery, including transit damage or a wrong product, must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, along with the unboxing video and photographs. Manufacturing defects that surface within the Craft Assurance period will be assessed through photographs and videos shared with us. Coverage applies when the lamp has been used in accordance with the Product Care instructions, including indoor use, use of a compatible bulb as specified, and without any modification to the electrical components.

Craft Assurance does not extend to minor surface texture irregularities, slight colour gradation, or dimensional variation inherent to cotton mâché craft, nor to any damage from outdoor placement, exposure to moisture, or any electrical issue arising from the use of incompatible bulbs, rewiring, or improper installation.
