Nem — Punjabi. The act of returning to something, again and again, until it becomes part of who you are.

Product Story

Nem is a solid wood end table built as a sequence. The central forms repeat — measured, contained, each one separated by a narrow groove, allowing the rhythm to be seen.

But the repetition is not endless.

The base holds the structure. The top resolves it.

Between them, the form returns to itself — not out of necessity, but with intent. That is what Nem is. Not endless motion, but a practice contained. Something you return to daily, within a frame you have chosen.

Over time, the repetition disappears.

What remains is certainty.

Nem is built that way. A rhythm, held between two points.

Smoked rosewood-stained turned wood column with a matte protective finish. Top is finished in matte black.

Wood-turned and finished by hand by skilled artisans

Variation:
Subtle variations in grain, tone, and finish are inherent to solid wood and reflect the character of each piece.

Care

· For indoor residential use only.

· Keep away from direct sunlight and AC vents — sustained exposure will dry and crack the wood.

· Always use coasters on the tabletop surface.

· Wipe with a soft, lint-free dry or slightly damp cloth. Dry immediately — do not leave moisture on the surface.

· Do not use chemical cleaners or products containing silicone, ammonia, or alcohol.

· When moving, lift from the base — never drag. Variations in grain, minor knots, and slight seasonal movement are inherent to solid wood.

Placement Guidance

Works in a living room or alongside a reading chair. The darker smoked finish grounds it — reads well in corners, against light walls, or on stone and concrete floors.

Craft Assurance

Each piece is crafted in solid wood and finished by hand. We stand behind the craft for one year from the date of delivery against manufacturing defects in joinery, structure, and finish.

Issues visible at the time of delivery, including transit damage or a wrong product, must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, along with the unboxing video and photographs. Manufacturing defects that surface within the Craft Assurance period will be assessed through photographs and videos shared with us.

Coverage applies when the piece has been used in accordance with the Product Care instructions.

Craft Assurance does not extend to natural grain variation, seasonal wood movement, minor tone or dimensional variation inherent to handcrafted production, wear from daily use, or damage from outdoor placement, heat, sunlight, moisture, or non-residential use. Surface changes arising from regular use or environmental exposure are not considered defects. To make a claim, write to hello@indiadesignhouse.com with photographs and, where applicable, the unboxing video. We will respond within 7 business days and, where warranted, arrange repair, part replacement, full replacement, or refund as appropriate.
