Fifteen cells in a grid. Fourteen are dark. One, set in the centre, has bloomed. The whole composition is built around that single break — a grid held, and one thing different inside it. In the craft traditions this cushion draws from, the deliberately different cell is an old idea: the mark that acknowledges no hand-made repetition is truly identical, and celebrates the fact rather than hides it.

· Cotton double slub, chosen for its soft handfeel and gently irregular texture.
· Dyed cotton corduroy, chosen for its tactile ribbed surface and rich tonal character.

Technique:
· Layered appliqué with decorative hand stitching
· Embroidery executed by hand.
Minor variations in stitch, texture, and motif placement are inherent and not considered defects.
